I’ve heard foreigners in Japan saying that they cannot find Large size clothes. You can go online and look for clothes, but some people rather go to stores and look for themselves. So if you are that type of a large person, this post may help you.
3 major BIG size clothing stores in Japan
Sakazen
This is probably the most renowned BIG size clothing store in Japan. With a famous comedian Ishi-chan as the brand ambassador, SAKAZEN has large size clothes ranging from 3L – 9L. They have business suits, casual wear, room wear, golf wear, basically everything you would want. They also have a very helpful blog for shoppers who have trouble choosing what to buy and how to coordinate their large size fashion (blog is only in Japanese).
They have 34 stores mainly around Kanto area. You can also shop online through their English website. With a purchase over 10,800yen, shipment is free.
Big M One
Big M One is another shop selling various large size clothing. Unlike Sakazen, they have no English website. Big M One has over 80 stores spread out in all areas of Japan. So rather than shopping online, you may be able to find a shop near you and shop on site. If you want to shop online, shipment is free wherever you are in Japan (this is a limited time offer so it may change).
4L
4L has large size clothing ranging from 2L-10L. They also have an online store but unfortunately it is only in Japanese. They have 104 stores nationwide so it may be easier to go to a store and shop right there. If you want to shop online, shipment is free with a purchase of over 5000yen.
From Erika
My friend always buys his clothes at shops around Yokota US Base. They have nice American large size clothes. it would be nice to take some time getting out there for sightseeing too since that area is very unique, Japan and America kind of mixed together. But if you’re looking for large size outside of Tokyo area, looking for shops I mentioned in this post could help you:)
